Overview
Setting goals in therapy can lay the foundation for transformation. In this workshop, we’ll explore how to co-create goals that are meaningful, concrete, maneuverable, and spurred from your clients’ lives and desires and needs . You’ll walk away with simple, effective ways to frame goals that generate motivation, guide your sessions, and support sustainable change. When purpose is clear from the beginning, we can be creative with how to implement change and continually use the client’s intent to propel therapy towards a more meaningful and hopeful future.
You’ll learn how to:
- Collaborate with clients to define goals that matter to them
- Shift from problem-saturated stories to future-oriented direction
- Reframe vague desires into actionable, inspiring targets
- Use goal-setting to strengthen engagement and reduce dropout
- Keep therapy focused without being rigid
Who is this for?
Clinicians who want to make the most of their sessions, reduce aimlessness in therapy, and work more collaboratively with clients from the very beginning. This workshop is especially valuable for therapists working in relational models, trauma work, busy adults, school settings, or with clients navigating high-stress environments.
